The neighborhood: The home is located on the south end of Shelburne Bay near the entrance of Shelburne Farms. This is a peaceful part of the lake with little boat traffic. Just down the street is Shelburne Farms, a 1,400 acre working biodynamic farm open to the public that includes beautiful walking trails, OBread Bakery (the best organic bakery in Vermont, baked fresh 7 days a week), cheese making and tasting, a market garden, and the world famous Inn at Shelburne Farms and 5 star restaurant. Downtown Shelburne is about a 10 minute drive to restaurants, shopping and the beautiful Shelburne Vineyards if wine tasting is your thing. It is also a 10-15-minute drive to downtown Burlington where you can find a nice of selection farm to table restaurants, unique bars and shopping. If you have a boat, you can skip the traffic and rip over to downtown Burlington in about 10 minutes. There is public boat parking right in the marina where there are plenty of waterfront restaurants, bars, festivals and fun to be had. From the waterfront it’s about a 5-10 minute walk to the Church Street Marketplace restaurants, bars and shopping. During the summer, downtown Burlington hosts a variety of festivals to appease the beer, music and art lover. Hikers and mountain bikers, you will be staying in the beautiful Green Mountains where there is unlimited adventuring possibilities. In the fall you will enjoy the world famous leaf peeping season, apple picking and so much more. Skiing and snowboarding are a 45 minute drive to Bolton and 1 hour+ to Stowe and Jay Peak as well as other resorts.
